Other than the quality of service, what perks me up during my hotel stays is always the ambience. It’s the major factor for me, even when I book rooms for my personal stays. And having a great view from my room contributes a lot to that. But the prices of hotels in Singapore that has great views? OOF.
Great service, phenomenal view – That’s what I got during my recent stay at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay and I can’t wait to show you around!
The moment I reached the hotel, I was greeted by the concierge at the lobby. However, the check-in area was situated levels above so I needed to take a lift up! The journey itself was so stunning though, I felt like I’m walking through the air-conditioned version of modern Botanic Gardens.

Stepping into the hotel feels like I’m in breezy garden. Every edge of the space is filled with greeneries, it was beautiful and so elegant. Even some of the seating areas are shaped like birds’ nests. The warm lighting definitely kept the ambience inviting cause it can get so chaotic and intimidating as you will be welcomed by restaurants all around even before reaching the check-in counters.

I was attended to the receptionist, Rose, who helped me with my check-in process. I vividly remembered her name cause I’m quite a big fan of Blackpink (I just can’t bring myself to call myself a Blink because it sounds so cringy). So when I went to Rose’s counter, I was like Hey! Love your name!
She then explained to me about the facilities and completed the standard check-in procedure. The whole process prolly took around 5 minutes which is great, according to the Forbes standard!

The room that I booked for was the Urban Deluxe category.
No upgrades for this particular stay which I certainly didn’t mind because the view from my room was everything I needed and more – I will share more on this laturrr.

The rooms under this category is spacious than an average deluxe room – 31 to 33 square metres is generous for a hotel room in Singapore. I’m not great at imagining how big is that, especially in square metres but you can see it from the pictures!

The bed, the obvious superstar of the room! Oh boy, the bed? King-sized, ridiculously soft, basically telling me to just lay on it all day. I immediately fantasize having one just like that in my bedroom at home.

Across from the bed is a little seating area with an armchair and a side table. I always wonder why this area always exists in hotel rooms. Do guests really sit on that armchair, and I don’t know? Read a book, drink coffee? I guess it’s perfect for doomscrolling Tiktok! Have you guys seen that video of the Director of FBI being interrogated at the senate hearing? His eyes are so weird.

Anyways! Speaking of coffee, the room comes with a capsule coffee machine, which is honestly a game-changer for early mornings or lazy afternoons.

Lighting in the room is layered so there’s soft, cozy lighting for when you just want to relax, brighter lights over the desk or seating area for reading or work (so blessed I don’t need to work while I’m on staycations) and little accent lights that make the space feel more homey. Basically, you’re not stuck with one harsh overhead bulb and I really appreciate that, since now I have to wear glasses – I hate super bright lights. It’s just the Mariah Carey in me. No, she’s in Singapore Expo!

Inside the wardrobe are all the essential amenities like bathrobes, iron and a shoe horn. It’s spacious enough if you wanna store your luggage here too! I prefer mine to just be out and about, I get easier access to it anyways. I wished the bathrobes are the fluffy ones though?

The view! The view from my room looked straight at Marina Bay Sands and honestly, it never gets old. I love architecture, I love looking at buildings, tall skyscrapers so this is just perfect for me. During the day, it’s that iconic sight everyone knows, the three towers with the boat (?) on top. At night, the view gets even better with the twinking lights and the sampan boats passing by. And yes! You can see the light show from here too. You don’t even have to leave the bed to enjoy it. It’s the kind of view that makes me feel patriotic and proudly Singaporean every time.

Let’s go to the bathroom together! The fact that I always say that to my colleagues cause going to the loo alone is just b-b-b-b-oring? The bathroom.. well, it’s a little stuck in the past. The shower is old, the bathtub feels half-hearted, the lightning is just terrible. I have this peculiar way of testing room lights – if I’m able to draw my eyebrow perfectly in a particular room, that means the lighting in that area is great. If you see me with eyebrows that look like char koay teow, best believe the lighting is horrible.
And yes, I had char koay teow eyebrows that day.

The hotel had a major revamp for the past few years, the room looks sparkly great but it seems like they left the bathroom out. It still looks dated.

Even the setup is weird. The toilet and bidet are separated side by side, so at first glance it looks like you’ve got two toilets. Functional, sure. Pretty? Not really. I just can’t imagine having to shift myself after pooping, to the bidet bowl. Do people actually do that back in the olden days?

Honestly, booking a room at the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay can never go wrong. I mean, let’s put that bathroom thing aside. It’s not a deal breaker for me.

The hotel is clean, the service is stunning, interior is just spectacular. I literally have no more positive words to say! And then the view? Looking out at Marina Bay Sands from your window is already a treat, but seeing the whole Singapore skyline from the pool? Next level.
It’s a sign for you book your next staycation here! Bring me along!
While I’m here, I am now preparing to go for another Singapura hotel tour. It will be in October next month and it’s gonna be super exciting cause it’s my birthday month too! So if you have any hotels you want me to try, feel free to lemme know and I will be there, superstars.
