Emma Rose Yacht, Singapore (Review)

Ahoy, mates!

For my birthday this year, I wanted to do something a little different. I’ve been celebrating my bestest years in some of the bestest hotel in Singapore so I just wanted a fresh new twist.

I’ve done hotels, I’ve done beaches.. I’ve done restaurants but I’ve never celebrated my birthday out in the sea, out on a yacht!

So here we are. And great news to some! This trip is super halal, you’ll love it.

The first week of October has been really wet and somehow the monsoon season came earlier as expected. I texted the captain of the yacht prior to the day of sail-out to check if there’s any contingency plans if ever it started to rain heavily on the day.

Delay of sail-out is possible if it starts to rain. However, 4 hours before the sail, the captain will send out a text to give you an option to postpone the whole trip. Do keep in mind that your initial deposit during booking is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.

As expected, the weather was unpredictable. But it was to my favour, it was sunny and beautiful!

Emma Rose Yacht is located in Punggol Marina. A really quaint and vintage dock for yachts. The Yacht, Emma Rose is named after Captain Zul’s first born and I truly love how the whole business is family oriented. The crews onboard are the parents of the captain himself. Really humble and super accommodating.

Access to the docks can be quite confusing due to the lack of signages but the captain of the yacht is just a text away! My friends and I were lost at first, but we made it!

Boy, is the yacht so beautiful! I have never been on one before so that explains my joy excitement. It was so surreal. I have been a fan of boats and ships since I was 7! That was also the age when I watched Titanic for the first time and got so obsessed with being out on the sea. I remembered asking my parents everything and anything about the Titanic back then. Imagine my excitement using Google for the first time and my first search was probably about the facts of the Titanic.

Anyways! After stepping on board the Emma Rose Yacht, the captain will give a safety briefing. Just seconds after being on board, I could actually feel the yacht swaying. My motion sickness can be bad at times, but it was somehow manageable on that day. Captain Zul shared some helpful tips to avoid motion sickness, one is to not stare at your phone screen, and to just gaze somewhere far ahead. The other is to just keep yourself occupied with conversations and not really think about it. That works for me!

Captain Zul then brought us to a tour of the yacht which was really impressive. The yacht is really big and more spacious than I ever imagined.

Near to the yacht’s bridge is a small door which leads to the living area.

That’s where we have access to Netflix, Disney Plus and a karaoke system.

There’s board games available on board too! I love monopoly.

We were served some nuts as snacks, with some hot drinks. My friends and I started to watch Mat Kilau on Netflix but then we figured, we spent so much to enjoy the experience.. not to watch Netflix! So we continued on exploring the yacht.

There was another stairs down, near the living area. That’s where the bedroom is! Wait, do they call it cabin or a bedroom still?

Regardless, it looks really cozy and vintage.

There was a bathroom attached to the cabin. At this point, I was really mesmerized. All this space, squeezed into a yacht and it’s doesn’t even feel confined and restricted!

A bidet, most importantly, provided.

If you’re staying overnight, a shower is available for you to use too.

I opted for the sail-out package where the captain will bring the yacht out to the sea during sunset. And me being obsessed with sunsets, that was super major to me. Watching the captain steering the ship was really an experience by itself!

The view of the sunset from the yacht was just breathtaking.

Not only did we get to watch the sunset from the bow of the yacht, but dinner was also served under the fairy lights.. which was just magical.

We had a barbeque-steamboat Mookata for dinner, served together with Tom Yum soup. For three passengers, the amount of food was massive! We couldn’t finish all the ingredients in one setting. It was so good though, we were so full. Full with love and most importantly, food!

The feeling of having food coma, while on board a yacht with the sea breeze.. really blissful.

Though it was a birthday celebration, I decided not to have a birthday cake this time. In the spirit of doing things new, I decided to get tarts as a birthday cake. A birthday tart!

And the only place I trust with tarts is of course, by the one and only Charmante Artisan Bakery. The bakery is owned by a very close friend of mine, and I am super proud of his new venture. Amazing, beautiful tarts. You have to check them out! Something about supporting local businesses is just so inspiring for me.

To end off the magical dinner, Captain Zul served us some fresh oranges.. and ice-cream potong for dessert. I love the teh-tarik flavored one!

The experience with Emma Rose Yacht is just beautiful and out-of-this-world. Being on a yacht is and will never be an everyday thing for me, and I am really glad that Captain Zul has made his incredible 1982 Bertram 58 Feet Yacht available to the public. To even celebrate a special occasion in a beautiful setting like this one is just phenomenal.

If you’re interested to go on board, prices start from $350 onwards for a 2 hour lunch package. But for the full experience, do get the package with the sail-out option because besties, the experience is just worth every penny that you are gonna spend.

If you’re into water activities, a jet-ski package is available too!

Sea you soon. Fair winds and following seas, besties!
