The last time I did a review on Studio M Singapore, I had the greatest time during my stay. Not only was it enjoyable, the hospitality was so great. Every single time I do a stay here, I always feel welcomed from the time I check in to the time I leave the hotel.
When I was invited for a second stay, excited is an understatement. It’s always a joy to come back and stay at one of the best boutique loft hotels. I personally love boutique hotels more rather than traditional ones because the vibe and the atmosphere is totally different. Albeit rather informal, but fun and unique nonetheless.
Check-in was pretty smooth. This time, the process for guest registration is different. QR code was provided during check-in, so all the processes were done through a link. It’s completely self-service so the amount of time taken to finish the check-in process is totally up to your own speed, if you’re tech-savvy or not. Personally for me, I would rather much have the guest service agent to key everything in for me. But to each his own!

I was escorted to the room by the very friendly marketing team. The room that we’re staying in right now, the Premier Loft Room is slightly different than the room category we reviewed previously.

Prior to check-in, I was told that the current room has been slightly revamped. Not big, but a subtle one. When I first entered, I could see the wallpaper is changed into something more fresh and artsy?

The grey bolster cover for the sofa bed is changed into something more pleasant-looking too.

The bidet in the bathroom was removed though, I’m unsure why. I told my friend that I love the bathrooms here specifically for the bidets because finally, clean bumbums! I know you, my readers, are bidet-lovers too. Some of you even read my blog just to check whether the hotels I review has them. Sad to report, that the bidet is not provided in the premier category for this loft.
Other than that, I couldn’t see any difference at all which was rather weird because the photos posted on the hotel’s website look really vibrant and bright. The linens, the cushions are all different. Though I’m not sure if the other premier rooms are furnished like that, but I was a little underwhelmed that mine isn’t.

One thing I love about Studio M though, is the high ceiling with the full-walled window. Not only does it make the room brighter, it definitely doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all. Like the loft room at the Harbour Ville Hotel? The room was beyond beautiful, but sadly there wasn’t any windows or.. ventilation rather. The room really felt stuffy after some time.

The second floor of the loft doesn’t have any significant changes as well, appearance wise. The television can now screen-mirror from your devices though, if that helps you. Screen-mirroring is a huge thing for me, that basically means I don’t need to bring my own HDMI cables anymore!

Breakfast was served on the second level of the hotel, at the on-site restaurant, Breeze.
Previously during my stay, the restaurant was closed. I didn’t even notice that they have a restaurant there because that section was entirely closed but they’re open for business right now! So if your booking includes breakfast as well, you totally should have your buffet breakfast here.

The restaurant is outdoor, literally so fresh and airy.

The spread for the breakfast buffet was rather minimal. There wasn’t much option; only a western spread, two kinds of dim-sums, cold-cuts and pastries were served. The breakfast is good if you’re looking for something light to start your day? Nonetheless, it was really great knowing that finally a buffet spread is available, as compared to only breakfast sets during my initial stay at Studio M.

The restaurant looks and feel amazing, but there’s potential for a better spread of buffet for breakfast in the future. Maybe more juices and local spreads?
Facilities at Studio M includes the pool, Jacuzzi and the semi-outdoor gym.

Do remember to bring your own towels when you come by for the gym or to swim! I went for a dip in the Jacuzzi but I had to bring my own towel from the room because none was provided at the pool and gym area.

The most exciting part of the stay is definitely of course, the Chocolate Temptation workshop, organized by the hotel team themselves.
They collaborated with Janice Wong, a local chocolatier and chef to bring us this amazing workshop that not only show us how chocolates are made, but how to actually make them from scratch!

The chocolate “factory” is located in a re-designed loft room with all the equipment and ingredients prepared for you. The room smells really.. yummy.

I live near the western part of Singapore and most days, we can actually smell the cocoa since we’re near the chocolate factories and because of that, I’ve always wanted to visit a chocolate factory! Looks like my dream came true?

The tour was really educational. The front office manager, Mr Shawn was trained by Janice Wong to conduct the workshop and he was really knowledgeable. He could answer all my chocolatey questions! He began explaining the ingredients of the chocolate, the process of harvesting and roasting the cocoa beans. It was really interesting. Then, the making of the chocolate starts! Don’t worry, if you’re a newbie in baking like me, the staff is there to help you every step of the way.

The workshop takes only an hour of your time. After that, your chocolate mixture will be sent to Janice Wong for tempering, a process that involves heating and cooling chocolate to stabilize it for making candies and confections. It also gives the chocolate a smooth and glossy finish and keeps it from easily melting on your fingers.

I gotta say, the chocolate-making workshop is random but definitely a unique experience. It’s a great bonding session to have with your friends or date. Not only was it fun, but you get to taste different kind of chocolates too! I’m so glad to have the experience and now, you can too!
Quickly book now before the year ends!
A very huge thank you to Ms Marlene and Ms Joanne for the chocolatey hospitality and the invitation. The whole stay was curated by their creative minds and I’m glad to have experienced that. And Mr Shawn, thank you for being so accommodating. It’s always a great time with Studio M. Does the M stands for Marvellous? Because I had a really Marvellous time!
