Cherry Blossoms, Sakura At Gardens By The Bay 2021: Display ending in one more week!

I have always been obsessed with flowers. Just the beauty of it is enough to mesmerise me! I still remember in kindergarten, how I would always run to bushes to touch the flowers whenever my mum would send me to school. I can’t remember what flower it was! But touching the petals somehow made me felt so content. Now you know what to get me for special occasions!

*Winks!*

I had the opportunity to visit Gardens By The Bay to catch the cherry blossoms blooming. It’s ending in one week so I really encourage you to get up, use your Singapore ReDiscovers voucher if you have not, and book your tickets! I’m here to tell you all about my day at the gardens, to give you a little glimpse before actually spending your time there. I gotchu!

I booked my tickets from KLOOK, one of the many apps that I really trust. Whenever I travel, KLOOK is literally my personal tour guide. Also, if you wish to use the vouchers, you can also apply it during check-out. Once booked, tickets will instantly be sent to your email. A link will also be sent for you to book a time slot. This is crucial! You have to book your time slot before entering the premises. That’s just one of the many efficient ways of them to control and limit the number of people from crowding in any one of the domes to promote self-distancing.

The weather was scorching hot and the distance of the domes from the entrance is quite a walk. I was prepared! I wore the lightest clothes I had, drank enough liquids prior and I’m ready to go.

One major thing I would recommend is to get a pass for the unlimited shuttle ride from Bayfront Plaza to the Conservatory, where the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest is.

After you walk pass the bridge that linked you from Marina Bay Sands, Bayfront Plaza is just right to your right. That’s where the shuttle pick-up will be! Just show your e-tickets and you’re ready to zoom! I’m pretty sure if you were to walk instead, it will take you around 15 minutes?

For only $3, it’s definitely worth-it! Being under the shade, ride through the beautiful sceneries of Gardens by the Bay and arrive to the domes in less than 5 minutes? Perfect! Get your shuttle pass here.

Other than the flowers, what I really looked forward to was the cool and chilly temperatures inside the domes. Do you know that it’s kept below 25 degrees celcius, so it’s technically spring season all the time? I wish we have that for our weather!

Everything was of course, super magical. It’s like a fantasy garden almost. Till today, I’m still amazed with the indoor waterfall. It looks like those waterfalls you see in fairytale movies. Enjoy the photos of the beautiful flowers I took!

I’m not sure if it’s natural but just look at how cute the rainbow-coloured flowers are. So striking!

And the roses! Look at how it dangles like that, looking like balls.

Oh! And of course, the installation that I have been meaning to tell you about; SAKURA FEATURING HELLO KITTY 2021.

While I’m not a fan of Hello Kitty, I’m definitely a fan of beautiful flowers! And the cherry blossoms here are just.. spectacular.

Signalling the onset of spring, cherry blossom season symbolises a time of renewal, bringing hope and new dreams at the beginning of the Japanese calendar year. Most cherry blossom varieties bloom in spring, and only last for about one to two weeks. Changes in weather can affect both the time of flowering and the length of the blooming season.

Generally, the milder the climate, the earlier the blossoms open, while strong wind and rain can cause the petals to shed sooner.

Gardens By The Bay

I truly appreciate how the team from Gardens By The Bay made this installation so interactive and breathtaking. It literally feels like I’m in Japan and that’s the closest thing we can ever experience during this pandemic times.
